OBSERVING SITE

The Camp Clarke Raiders Black Powder Range is located on private property owned by the City of Bridgeport and is located at the base of historic Courthouse and Jail Rock just 5 miles South of Bridgeport, Nebraska on State Highway 88.

Primitive camping is permitted on the Camp Clarke Raiders Black Powder Range. You may camp right next to your observing site or anywhere you like within the property boundaries with the exception of the shooting range. There is an outhouse, a picnic pavilion and playground equipment for the children. Pumpkin creek runs through the campground and water from a hand pump is available.

Tents, campers and RV’s are welcome. Water and trash is available on site. There is no electricity, flush toilets, showers, water hookups or dump stations available on this site so please plan accordingly. Generators are permitted from 10 am to 6 pm.

Getting There

FROM THE NORTH (Alliance, Scottsbluff, Oshkosh)
Take Highway 26 to Bridgeport, Nebraska then head south on Highway 88 for five miles. Turn right, onto a dirt road, at the Courthouse and Jail Rock sign. Take the first left hand turn and follow the road to the observation field.

FROM THE SOUTHWEST (coming from Wyoming)
Take Interstate 80 to Kimball, Nebraska. Then head North on Highway 71. Turn right at the Highway 88 junction. Take a left, onto a dirt road, at the Courthouse and Jail Rock sign. Take the first left hand turn and follow the road to the observation field.

FROM THE SOUTHEAST (coming from Lincoln)
Take Interstate 80 to Sidney, Nebraska then head North on Highway 385 to Bridgeport, Nebraska. Head south on Highway 88 for five miles. Turn right, onto a dirt road, at the Courthouse and Jail Rock sign. Take the first left hand turn and follow the road to the observation field
